Solar Eclipse Fever has hit and locals are excited for a once-in-a-lifetime event when the solar eclipse is viewable on Monday, August 21. The Tampa Bay area isn't in the path of totality, but we will be treated to 80% coverage. Head to these solar eclipse events to get the best possible view! Safety Alert: If you're planning on viewing on your own, don't forget to wear solar glasses or view through a filter to safely view the eclipse; never look directly at the sun without a filter as it can cause damage to your eyes.
- St Pete Beach Library: The St Pete Library is hosting an event at 365 73rd Ave St Pete Beach from 1-4:30pm and is providing free solar viewing glasses to the first 200 attendees. Just bring a beach chair!
